Wayanad Trip

I could not pen down our experience on Wayanad trip due to work pressure. I was waiting for some free time but came to know, after a long time though, that if I postpone something, I’ll continue to postpone forever. [Wow! I am speaking philosophy nowadays. ]

Anyway, let me start with a shot summary of the trip:

Date: 29, 30, 31 Aug 2008

Places:

Day1 -> Edakkal Cave, Meenmutty Falls, Lakkidi viewpoint

Day2 -> Pookot Lake, Banasura Dam-The largest earth dam in India

We felt our previous trip [to Kodaikanal & Munnar] involved lots of travelling, which we felt is the only disappointing thing in the whole trip and we decided to keep the distance in mind for future trips. The result is here, less travel, more fun.

The distance between Bangalore and Wayanad is 255 kms, which means around 5 hrs of journey. So, we started off from Bangalore at 11pm on 29th Aug, 08. Reached our destination early in the morning, around 5:30am. It was still dark and we struggled hard to find a Hotel to get fresh. Somehow we managed to finish all our morning rituals with the help of an unknown person over there, and we all are thankful to him.

I see Jog Falls Crying!

7th Sep, 2008. Its not the first time that I am going to see her but still the same energy is there in the air. I remember the good old days when I first saw her. Gosh! She is so beautiful. I am eagerly waiting to see the glimpse of her smile.

There she is. As gorgeous as ever. Again, she welcomed all of us with the same beautiful smile.

Jog Falls

It was drizzling a bit and slowly fog was trying to cover her beauty. We thought of trekking down to enjoy the jog bath as planned earlier. Suddenly, a notice board caught my attention.

Trip to Kodaikanal & Munnar

After exactly one year from Gagana chukki – Bhara chukki trip, once again we, Volcanoes [ thats what we call ourselves ] planned for a trip to Kodaikinal & Munnar. And below is the consolidated list of the places that we had been to:

* Kodaikanal

* Cochin

* Cherai Beach

I’ll not eat out much of your time this time by explaining the whole journey, as these are famous places and almost everyone is aware of them. But still, I would like to share some unique experiences here, please bare with me.

We had scheduled ourselves to leave at 10:30pm or so on Friday night but boys will be boys, no time sense.. [including me.. ]. Somehow we managed to leave before 12 midnight. And this delay did cost us later a lot, can’t help it buddy.

The journey was too long, so we thought of playing some games, all of them were normal but “dumb-shall-act” was abnormal as almost all of us were new to this game and didn’t know how to act to bring out the film names and this lead to the unstoppable laughter.

We headed to Kodaikanal first. And following are the two places on the way.

This is the first one where you can see a falls from a long distance, called as “Thalaiyar Falls” if i got it right from my memory.

Trekking @ Shivagange

1st of Dec, 2007.. Chilling, yet lovely weather.. 6 friends.. Bike ride at 4′o clock in the morning.. Feels exciting? Well, it was and it is..

We thought of leaving early, so every one got up at 3am.. At sharp 4:30am, we all were there at the Navarang signal (Rajajinagar, Bengalooru), having hot-hot Tea from a road-side hotel.. From there, we started our journey..

Its the Tumkur road (NH 4) which leads to our destiny. Its a nice flat road where you can enjoy the ride like anything.

Rafting & Trecking @ Bheemeshwari.!

Man, its real fun to Raft in a river. What a fun it was! Too good.

Even though this Bheemeshwari is said to be of level 1 or 2 (not sure) but its good for beginners like me. Before I start bugging you with my talks, let me show you some pics of the place.
